History

Cathedral International School was founded in 1995 by Delores Sánchez and her mother, Miriam Joa. We started with a preschool located in Lucerna, named Centro Educativo, «1 2 3,» with 45 children enrolled. This was the first school in Santo Domingo Este with a bilingual Curriculum offering English as a second language. Our vision was to become a pre-university school, which motivated us to expand our educational approach to Primary school and complete High School. In 2000 we moved to a new campus in the Ensanche Ozama, Santo Domingo Este, offering our families a high-quality education in a safe, aesthetic, and comfortable environment. We are accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and The World Association of Early Childhood Education (AMEI). In 2012 we opened a new campus in the exclusive area of Evaristo Morales, spreading our academic proposal to other communities.
